The Chairperson of Egypt Post Essam El Saghir signed with the Chairperson of the Jordan Post Khaled El Laham a joint cooperation protocol in the field of e-commerce with the aim of allowing the clients of the Jordan Post to shop from US, England, and China through the logistical assembling centre in Cairo. The meeting also stipulates that the service of instant money transfer would be activated, in order to facilitate funds transfer for Egyptians living in Jordan to their relatives in Egypt.
El Saghir said that according to that agreement, the logistical centre for Egypt Post at Cairo International Airport will be used in e-commerce to enable the clients of Jordan Post to shop online from US, UK, and China easily, as the shipments from these three countries would be collected and shipped to the logistical assembling centre in Cairo then to Jordan, which would eventually reduce the costs and improve the service. The agreement also stipulates activating the service of instant funds transfer for Egyptians working in Jordan, whereby they can transfer money to their relatives through over 4000 offices across the country.
The protocol aims to strengthen cooperation between Egypt Post and Jordan Post, as well as open new horizons for cooperation between Egypt and Jordan to benefit from the capabilities of post within the two countries to offer e-services with high quality and competitive prices to gain the confidence of citizens, as well as a fair share of the e-commerce market which is taken over by international shipping countries, El Saghir added.
