Egypt President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi asserted that the country’s armed forces achieved countless heroic feats throughout the last decades, especially during the 6t October War in 1973.

“This war was not for restoring (our) lands, but also for peace,” said Al-Sisi on Saturday during his speech on the 6th October War anniversary.

“Only old-time, and age-old people, truly understand the meaning of peace, and seek to achieve it. They know well that peace should be based on justice, and the balance of power,” Al-Sisi elaborated.

He added, “this is what the great Egyptian people realised, and what its historical leadership represented by what the late president Anwar Sadat implemented, the war, and peace hero.”

Furthermore, Al-Sisi said that the 6th of October War proved that Egypt could alter any situation that it does not accept, obliging all to respect its free will.

He asserted that maintaining peace is a challenge which is of no less importance than the war challenge, adding that Egypt’s will in maintaining peace stems from a national, and prominent conviction.

Moreover, Al-Sisi said that the country faced one of the most difficult challenges throughout the past years, as it had to maintain the state, face the risk of a political vacuum, the spread of armed terrorism, and disorder.
