Egypt faces Palestine in Arab Volleyball Championship

The Egyptian national team’s squad will include Ahmed Fathi; Mohamed Gabal; Abdul Rahman Hussein; Sherif Ahmed Saeed; Hisham Yousri; Rashad Shebl; Mohamed Salama Masoud; Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Aal; Hossam Youssef Abdullah; Omar Naguib; Ahmed Saied Shafek and Moustafa Mohamed Abdul Rahman.

The tournament kicked off on Saturday and the opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy, Head of the Egyptian Volleyball Federation (EVF) Khaled Nasif Salim, Head of the African Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Amr Elwany, and Deputy Head of the Arab Volleyball Association (AVA).

In the group stage, Egypt won the first and second leg matches against Jordan 3-0 each, and beat Algeria 3-1 in the first leg match.

Also, on Thursday, Iraq will face Bahrain, while Jordan will face Algeria. This tournament is held in a single round, where each team plays six matches, and the team with the highest score will win the title.

The main players of the national team refused to participate in the Arab championship which forced the EVF to resort to alternative players. However, Egypt still has the biggest chance to win the Arab championship title.
