In the latest example that internet dominance is as fragile as an eggshell, a photo of a regular egg dethroned Kylie Jenner’s birth-announcement post and became the most liked photo ever on Instagram with a new record of more than 26 million likes.

The photo of  the egg was posted to an account called @world_record_egg on 4 January, with caption says ‘Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram. Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner! We got this.’

TV star Kylie Jenner’s announcement that she’d had a baby, Stormi, by posting a photo of her  baby’s hand hold Jenner’s finger, Instagram users reacted by more than 18 million likes on the photo since it was posted February 2018.

Jenner has already weighed in on her defeat on Instagram. “Take that little egg,” she captioned a video of herself cracking an egg on the ground.

It is unclear why the owner of the account posted the photo, even their identity is still unknown, when Buzzfeed’s news website attempted to get a hold of the people who run this Instagram account, the reporter found that it’s the brainchild of “Henrietta,” a chicken from the British countryside.

It’s not the first time that internet users, react on a matter likes the egg’s photo, there are record holders in favor of a lighthearted gag. In 2017, the internet gethered behind Carter Wilkerson, a 16-year-old high school student who set a Twitter record for retweets after asking a fast food shope for free chicken nuggets.

Wilkerson was recently beaten  by a Japanese businessman, under the handle @yousuck2020, who got more than five million retweets when he offered about $9,250 to 100 random people who retweeted him.
