The Egyptian Commercial Service Office (ECS) plans to organise a trade mission to Uganda in March, according to Ahmed Antar, head of the ECS.

Antar told Daily News Egypt that the ECS is organising several trade missions during the current year including to Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

Furthermore, Antar elaborated that the trade missions will include engineering sectors, chemical, food, engineering, garments and building materials industries.

Moreover, Antar pointed out that the ECS collaborates with the ministry of investment to promote Egyptian investment opportunities abroad through the ECS’s offices all over the world and beyond the number of 71 offices.

He affirmed that the ECS does not plan to open new offices in other countries in the current year.

“The ECS, in collaboration with the ministry of investment, have identified the investment opportunities available in Egypt and the ministry determines the countries to start out,” Antar noted. “The ECS’s plan in the current year focuses on increasing the Egyptian presence in the African market.”

With regard to exhibitions, the ECS exerted more efforts in holding exhibitions in several countries as the ECS in Brazil is currently organising a six-month-long exhibition for Egyptian products at the Space Samples showroom in Campinas city, from 21 January to 21 July 2019.

In November 2018, Minister of Trade and Industry, Amr Nassar, said that the ECS offices have succeeded in organising Egyptian participation in five international exhibitions, as well as organising 70 visits and commercial missions. They also prepared 271 reports and marketing studies.
