Egypt’s Prosecutor General, Nabil Sadek, ordered the ministry of telecommunications on Tuesday evening to take all the necessary technical measures in order to ban websites broadcasting materials which violate public manners, according to an official statement.

The prosecution also ordered the ministry to ban any websites which publish photos or videos including any sexual content, and to notify the public prosecution about any of the sites which violate the aforementioned decision.

The decision comes as part of the investigations into a leaked pornographic video which recently circulated on social media platforms, featuring a parliamentary member, who is also a prominent director, and two young actresses.

The two actresses were arrested and accused of prostitution, inciting debauchery and obscenity online, while the MP is out of the country.

Both females said, during the investigations, that they were married to the director during the time the videos were published, while he denied his relation to the video.

Two days ago, Sadek also ordered the National Media Authority to implement a media gag into the case of the two actresses, in which no newspaper or channel will be allowed to publish anything on the case until the end of investigations.
