The government is planning to increase the value of cleaning fees, and will be included in the electricity bills. According to government sources, the cleaning fee is determined based on the value of consumption and geographical scope, and will increase with the increase in the value of electricity consumption segments to be implemented in July, within the programme announced to gradually remove electricity subsidies.
The sources pointed out that the value of cleaning fees is collected with the electricity consumption bill to be disbursed to the local councils, while the electricity distribution companies receive 3-5% of the total amount collected.
According to the sources, the government was considering separating the collection of cleaning fees from electricity bills because of the failure to collect regular dues, but according to the current trends in collecting regular monthly bills, the government announced the continued collection of cleaning fees on electricity bills and decided to increase the fees in July. The value of the increase is yet to be announced.
The sources pointed out that the increase in cleaning fees will be determined according to the monthly consumption of the participants, and the payment for cleaning the streets and neighbourhoods where each participant lives.
