STC collaborates with Ericsson to accelerate 5G use-case implementation

Barcelona- As part of its strategic priorities to maximise the benefits of its network evolution in Saudi Arabia, Saudi Telecom Company (STC) announced on Monday that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ericsson to collaborate in building 5G use cases. The overall aim is to prepare STC in targeting enterprise and consumers customers with the latest innovations in 5G-based solutions. 

With this MoU, Ericsson brings extensive innovation and research expertise that will maximise the benefits of implementing 5G technologies in Saudi Arabia. Leveraging Ericsson’s global partnership with industry partners will also provide STC with the most relevant and agile solutions to monetise its future 5G network.

“STC is a world-class digital leader in Saudi Arabia providing best-of-breed services to its customers with high efficiency and agility. This agreement with Ericsson will expand STC’s product and services portfolio to gain more ICT market share and maintain STC’s leadership in ICT in the kingdom,” said the Senior VP of Technology and Operations at STC, Haithem Al Faraj.

Head of Ericsson Middle East and Africa, Rafiah Ibrahim, said: “We are collaborating with STC to build the imperatives of future business as well as to improve customer experience for 5G. This MoU is also in line with our continuous efforts to support STC’s digital agenda.”
