Bouteflika returns home after medical check-up in Geneva

Local Algerian media outlets announced that Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika returned to the country on Sunday, after undergoing medical check-up in Switzerland Bouteflika has ruled the country since 1999 and is currently bidding for a fifth term despite his deteriorating health.
This led to mass protests across the country. Also on Sunday, Algeria’s ruling FLN party called on all political sides to work together to end the political crisis in the country.
