The Court of Cassation, headed by Judge Magdy Abu Ala, upheld a court ruling on Wednesday, imprisoning 27 police officers in South Sinai for three years.
The court also imposed a fine worth EGP 6,000 on the police officers.
The defendants are accused of illegally striking and disrupting work, in addition to inciting violence against Sharm El-Sheikh police officers and central security forces, as well as intimidation of said police officers causing them physical harm.
They were referred to the South Sinai Criminal Court, where the judgment was issued.
The court acquitted 13 other defendants in the same case.
