The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) decided to extend its working hours at 64 branches until 6:00 pm to provide electronic tax payment services in the periods between 24-31 March and between 22-30 April.
The NBE will limit its services after normal working hours to tax payment services in order to achieve a successful tax season without congestion in its branches.
According to the bank, the selection of branches considered covering all geographical regions in the country and their proximity to the relevant tax authorities.
The bank issued directives at all branches that taxes would be collected from financiers or representatives, regardless of their values, and added to their tax accounts instantly in a way that ensures the security of the tax collection process.
These measures aim to contribute toward maximising the tax collection process which would leave a positive impact on the strength of the national economy.
According to the NBE, these measures come within the framework of the bank’s keenness to play its role in serving the national economy and supporting the Egyptian Tax Authority to collect its dues during the peak periods of filing tax returns in March and April every year.
The NBE offers an e-payment system that allows the collection of the state’s revenues in an effortless and swift manner, to help individual financiers or corporate clients, along with non-customers of the bank.
All the branches of the bank offer tax e-payment services during official working hours, whether in cash or through transactions from banking accounts.
