An Egyptian delegation arrived in Saudi Arabia to participate in the second edition of the Makkah Economic Forum which was launched on Saturday and is scheduled to last until Tuesday, a statement of the Saudi Arabian embassy said on Sunday.
Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Assem El-Gazzar, and the Chairperson the Suez Canal Authority, Mohab Mamish, headed the delegation.
The forum is being held under the theme ‘The Road to Urban Future: Invest in Makkah,’ and is organised by the governorate of the Makkah region and the Jeddah Chamber, in cooperation with chambers of Makkah and Taif.
The forum is focusing on four main pillars including urban development, public services and infrastructure, transportation and logistics services, and innovation in Hajj and Umrah, highlighting unique investment opportunities in urban development in the Makkah region.
Saudi Arabia is keen on focusing on sustainable development programmes, promoting public-private sector investments, and developing the Makkah region to become able to host visitors during the Hajj season.
