Uber announced on Wednesday that it has launched UberBlack in Egypt, a premium product that will be operated by the mobility solutions provider, Budget.
It added that the product is available in El Gouna starting from 23 April, aiming to facilitate even more choice for riders across Egypt, when it comes to transportation options within the application.
According to Uber`s press statement, the launch of UberBlack is a further step toward Uber’s commitment to developing transportation to fit the needs of different market demographics, and is also in line with Budget’s efforts to continuously enhance its customers’ experience and to expand its reach. Following the launch of UberTuktuk also in El Gouna, this partnership has been tailored to make transport for holiday goers and El Gouna residents easier by providing trips catered for long distances.
“We are always working to diversify products by making our platform more relevant to riders across markets within Egypt. UberBlack is our latest offer, based on extensive research, to fit the needs of riders in El Gouna, which was only feasible through a strong partner like Budget. We will continue to study the evolving needs of different markets and adapt our products accordingly,” stated Head of Uber Egypt, Ahmad Hammouda,.

The UberBlack service is launched with a wide-range of high-end Volvo S60 and S80 vehicles operated by Budget with professionally trained drivers. The service is officially available on the application from 23 April for a reserved time period, kicking off operations by facilitating trips within El Gouna.
Going forward, UberBlack will also be operating to and from Hurghada airport, increasing tourism to the area by further facilitating safe and reliable transportation for holiday makers.
