Aiming to solve the struggle of selling match tickets, a new application is set to launch that will allow Egyptians to book tickets online. The new application and website, Tazkarty, started from Wednesday.
The application aims at combating inflated ticket prices on the informal market, by making the website and app the primary outlet for booking tickets.
The application will still be utilised after the African Cup of Nations comes to an end, it will be used to book tickets for concerts and events.
According to the new system, tickets are electronically placed to the public to obtain them and a Fan ID to be used in receiving tickets and entering games.
The organising committee of the tournament has announced the prices of tickets for AFCON. The low-category ticket prices for Egypt’s matches in the tournament’s first round is EGP 150 and EGP 200 in following rounds. The medium-category tickets costs EGP 400, while the high-category costs EGP 600.
The African Nations Cup is set to kick off on June 21st, and run until July 19th. This is the fifth time Egypt has hosted this highly anticipated and prestigious sports event.
