Egypt’s exports to Arab countries recorded $860.4m in February, up from $798.8m during the same period in 2018, an increase of 7.7%, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics’ (CAPMAS) report.
The report added that the UAE is the largest Arab importer of Egypt’s products in February 2019, with a total export of $177.9m, compared to $202.4m during February 2018, a decrease of 12.10%.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia ranked second among top Arab importers from Egypt in February 2019, totaling $154.6m, up from $120.3m in 2018, a growth of 28.5%.
The CAPMAS added that Jordon came third with total imports from Egypt worth $95.2m in February 2019, compared to $43m during the same period in 2018, showing a hike of 121.3%.
“Egypt’s exports to Libya in February reached $53.8m, up from $31.4m in February 2018, a hike of 71.33%” according to the CAPMAS.
Unfortunately, the CAPMAS disclosed that the state’s exports to the rest of Arab countries in February were down by 5.6%, reaching $378.9m. They went down from $401.7m in the same period of 2018.
