Technology has become the engine of economic growth, and technological changes inspire many companies to provide new innovations to help market their products. With the recent public interest in 3D technology, Elaraby Group became the first company in Egypt to take advantage of this technology.
Elaraby Group, the Egyptian shareholding company for manufacturing engineering products, will launch a new application for a product trial by using the 3D technology on July 18.
The creative application seeks to portray a 3D image to the selected electronic devices, before purchasing them, to see how it looks like in shape and size in real life. Portraying the devices in their real width, height, and size would help customers visualise the devices. This also helps facilitate mentally placing them in their dedicated areas before purchasing them.
“If the customer wants to purchase a television, they can use the AR (Augmented Reality) application to try the television at home, as the AR application is an interactive application which will convert the mobile phone into a projector to provide the 3D experiences,” said Manal Negmeldin, the e- business head at Elaraby Group, in her speech at the Social Media Day in the Greek Campus.
“The application will allow customers to see whether the product fits the place they are going to put the product in,” she added.
Despite having one of the highest internet traffic data flow in the world, Egypt’s average rate of online trading business is still low, so the new businesses need to build trust with customer, She explained. But, Negmeldin asserted that Elaraby Group did not face this problem while establishing its website, as as the company had already built the appropriate trust with customers.
Considering some challenges revolving around customer’s fear of purchasing online, Elaraby Group’s website overcame that by providing the required services such as booking online and delivering the products. While booking online, Elaraby’s website allows the customer to select the time and day in which he prefers to receive the delivered items. This step increased online purchasing.
