Parliamentary members revealed the laws and topics of concern to be discussed during the fifth round scheduled to begin in October.
The planned laws included economic, community, and educational topics.
MP Yasser Omar said the Egyptian economy needs continuous strengthening efforts, noting that economic laws are of great importance, most notably customs and taxes.
“There will be a great attention to the laws related to chambers of commerce, businesspersons and investors’ associations, the revival of Egyptian industries, and other topics that concern the economic committee,” he added.
MP Mahmoud Mohi El-Dein, member of the housing committee, said, “We need a variety of laws, but we were asked in the last round to focus on laws offering public services, most notably the special housing laws and correcting rents situation.”
He added that among the important topics to be discussed is the amendment of Egypt’s old rent law for shops and non-residential purposes.
MP Medhat El-Sherif, member of economic affairs committee, stressed the need to pay attention to educational laws in general and technical education in particular because they are really essential for progress and renaissance.
“We need laws that introduce strategies to combat corruption and such legislation will be the key to the implementation and activation of all other economic, investment, social, and even sports laws,” El-Sherif said, adding that he demands more attention to youth through introducing legislation that will help them to find the right job and launch successful projects.
