Ten companies have expressed interest in bidding for a public tender for building rooftop solar panels in the New Administrative Capital.
Informed sources told Daily News Egypt that the companies include TBEA, El-Sewedy, PowerChina, Scatec Solar, Sky Power, and Sterling and Wilson Solar. The companies are scheduled to submit two closed envelopes, one technical and the other financial.
The sources added that the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) issued the tender’s prospectus on Sunday for $5,000.
The sources pointed out that the ACUD in cooperation with a consulting office will prepare a short list of eligible companies after studying all bids.
The New Administrative Capital projects are the most demanded in the real estate market recently, due to its variety, whether from private sector companies or the Ministry of Housing.
The New Capital projects also benefited from the great attention paid by the state, as well as the size of the achievements made on the ground, making it more attractive to domestic and foreign investment, in its residential, commercial, and administrative offerings.
President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has ordered that all administrative buildings in the New Capital should run by solar energy, which will help increase job opportunities in this field and reduce the cost of solar equipment.
