The Federation of Egyptian Banks (FEB) allocated EGP 18.5m to develop two schools in Helwan city, Cairo.
The development includes Salem Hassan Tamaa School in Arab Rashid and Arab Kafr El Elw Primary School in Tebeen.
This comes within the framework of the initiative adopted by the FEB to develop several informal housing areas in Helwan and several villages in Giza governorate in an integrated framework for development, to upgrade infrastructure and promote human development in those areas.
According to the FEB, this is a pioneering experience, as the banking sector collaborates on sustainable development, under one umbrella to increase the impact of their social responsibility efforts.
The initiative, aroused from the banking sector belief in the need to give back to the community through financing development projects in informal areas.
In line with the state’s priorities, the FEB, it signed a cooperation protocol with Takatof Association for Development to develop educational services in informal areas at the end of 2018.
Accordingly, the FEB allocated EGP 18.5m for the development of Hassan Salem Tamaa and Arab Kafr El Elw primary schools in Helwan, in addition to the development of a student clinic at Hassan Salem Tamaa primary School.
The Sustainable Development Committee on Sunday opened the Hassan Salem Tamaa Primary School in Helwan after development through Takatof Association for Development, as part of the initiative of the FEB to develop informal areas.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ezz El Arab, along with Dalia Abdel Kader, head of FEB’s Sustainable Development Committee, Minister of Education Tarek Shawky, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal, Hossam Badrawy, Chairperson of Takatof Development Association, and Merai Naseem, CEO of Takatof.
