Petro Shorouk, a joint venture between Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Eni aims to connect the 13th well in Mediterranean Sea Zohr field in October.
Atef Hassan, chairperson of Petro Shorouk, and Petrobel that the 14th well is expected to be linked to production before the end of this year, to bring the total field production to more than 3bn billion cubic feet of gas per day (scf/day).
The financial results of Petro Shorouk showed that the company has completed the construction of the onshore plants 8 months ahead of schedule, after production units 5, 6 and 7 in February, March and April 2019, respectively, bringing the total capacity of the onshore treatment plant to 3.2bn scf/day.
Hassan pointed out that the total investments of the Zohr field development project so far amounted to about $10.6bn, including $3bn this year.
He added that the total gas production from all fields of Petrobel exceeded 4bn scf/day, and recorded an average production of 805,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
