The fifth edition of the Cairo WoodShow will be held from 5 to 8 December under the auspices of Ministry of Trade and Industry, Industrial Modernisation Centre, Egyptian Furniture Export Council, Wood Working and Furniture Chamber at the Federation of Egyptian Industries, General Organisation for Import and Export Control (GOEIC), with the participation of specialists and experts in the wood sector.
The show is a national project to promote and support the furniture industry in Egypt according to Mohamed El Saidi, the Cairo WoodShow organiser.
“It offers a breakthrough for Egyptian exports of furniture and wood products, and give more impetus to Egyptian industries and their ability to compete in international markets with high-quality products, as well as attracting more foreign investment,” he added.
El Saidi explained that 40 local and international companies specialised in manufacturing wood products and woodworking machinery and accessories and panels, from 19 countries around the world will exhibit their products in the fifth edition of the show.
The Cairo WoodShow is a strong opportunity for the Egyptian government to open export markets and promote investment for Egyptian products, he noted. Additionally, it will encourage small manufacturers to produce investment and remove the difficulties they face with the provision of the latest technologies in the wood industry, according to El Saidi.
He further added that the exhibition is held on an area of 12,000 sqm, with the presence of thousands of visitors specialised in the sector and the participation of many countries, namely the United States, Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Russia, India and Malaysia.
