Børge Brende, President of the World Economic Forum (WEF)- Davos praised Egypt’s progress, especially in the economic field, in light of the economic and legislative reforms that contributed to improving the investment climate in Egypt.
During his meeting with Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr in Geneva, Brende added that Egypt is one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
Nasr presented all the economic, legislative, structural and institutional reforms undertaken by the government during the last period to improve the investment climate, which would enhance investor’s confidence in the Egyptian economy.
The minister pointed out that the Egyptian government has worked on promoting an attractive environment for local and foreign investors to boost economic growth and improve Egypt’s competitiveness, in addition to encouraging the private sector to direct new investments in the market in tandem with ongoing projects undertaken by the government in infrastructure.
She further met with Sean Doherty, Head of International Trade and Investment at the WEF, where they discussed increasing cooperation between Egypt and the Forum in the field of investment facilitation.
