Computer software corporation Oracle has made a financial offer to provide services to the data centre within the new administrative capital (NAC).
Waleed Abdul Hamid, Oracle’s Sales Vice President of Application Solutions in CATLEENA, said the data centre aims to host an unlimited number of clients from government agencies and ministries in the capital for a nominal financial figure.
This came after the company obtained the approval of the parent company to provide this offer, which was then presented to the NAC.
He told Daily News Egypt that Oracle has a large market share in cloud applications for the banking and communications sector. The company has 30 to 40 customers in Egypt, including four to five government and private banks.
He stressed that the local market is witnessing a technological breakthrough with the availability of economic, political, and security stability of the state. This breakthrough also came about thanks to the support of political leadership, as well as promising investment opportunities in the activity of asset management solutions using technology.
On the other hand, he revealed that the company is discussing mechanisms to participate in the Cairo information and technology (ICT) exhibition and conference, which will be held from the first to the fourth of December at the Egypt Center for International Exhibitions in 5th Settlement.
He said Egypt is competing with the markets of Romania, India, and Ireland in the availability of qualified human resources. Accordingly, the parent company decided to establish a centre to provide consultancy from Egypt to customers in the Middle East and Africa with about 85 employees.
It has also established a business development hub with 40 to 50 employees.
It is noteworthy that Oracle has been working in Egypt for more than 12 years, and implemented many national projects in cooperation with the government.
CATLEENA has about 30 markets in Central Asia, Turkey, North Africa, and the Levant.
