Al-Sisi briefed on Ministry of Social Solidarity’s strategy

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has discussed with Minister of Social Solidarity Nevin Kabbaj a comprehensive strategic vision for the ministry which includes projects and plans of social protection programmes.

This came during a meeting on Saturday to discuss the ministry’s efforts  for the current year. Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly was also present at the meeting.

The president directed the minister to govern procedures and create accurate databases as a basis for developing and sustaining performance in this vital sector.

Al-Sisi said this should come within the framework of the state’s general plan to digitise, noting that it  would be qualitatively reflected at the level of service delivery and government performance.

He also directed the ministry on the importance of ensuring a stable flow of resources, thus stabilising and upgrading services.

The president further directed the minister to provide more support and care for people with special needs, as part of the state’s efforts to enhance community participation and provide them with the best services, and to raise awareness and resolve their issues and problems.

Regarding the process of refining and qualifying human cadres, the president directed a special attention be given in this regard, especially in light of the government’s intention to move to the New Administrative Capital.

For her part, Al-Kabbaj presented her ministry’s strategy which was based on three main axes; protection, care, and development.

She explained that the strategy aimed at creating a social safety net to support and protect poor families, provide care for low-income households, raise their standard of living, and improve the level of services provided to them, in addition to encouraging the private sector.
