Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El-Gazzar has met with Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy to discuss offering Sports City memberships at lower prices to housing unit owners in the New Urban Communities Authority’s (NUCA) R3 region in the New Administrative Capital (NAC).
Waleed Abbas, assistant housing minister for community affairs of NUCA, said on Monday that Sports City is located north R3 in the NAC, on 92 feddan, and includes a football stadium complex, an indoor hall, swimming pools, squash complex, and a tennis court complex.
There will also be a recreational area, including a playground, a swimming pool for children, an artificial lake, and a waterway. There will also be many social and cultural buildings.
The NAC is located 35 km east Cairo on a total area of 170,000 feddan. The New Capital lies between the regional ring road, the Cairo-Suez road, and Cairo-Sokhna road.
The New Capital will help strengthen and diversify the country’s economic potential by creating new places to live, work, and visit. In order to draw people to this new capital city, a series of key catalyst developments will be established in the capital. This will include a new government administrative district, a cultural district, and a wide variety of urban neighbourhoods.
