Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi said that the police made all the sacrifices defending the country, noting that the epic of 25 January 1952 will remain engraved in the conscience of successive generations.
Al-Sisi added, during his speech on Thursday, in the celebration of the 68th Police Day, “The Police Day is not only for the policemen, but rather it is a holiday for all Egyptians,” adding that the achievements made in Egypt will be a starting point for building the modern state.
In Egypt, 25 January remarks Police Day which dates back to 1952 when 50 policemen were killed and 80 were wounded in Ismailia by British colonialist. The massacre was the spark of the revolution that ended the monarchy in Egypt on July 23 of the same year.
During his speech, Al-Sisi saluted every Egyptian woman, and every Egyptian who faced the impossible and overcame difficulties, explaining that the whole world is now seeing how Egypt has turned into an oasis of security and safety, with many economic transformations.
