Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El Said met with Hussein Alamoudi, the head of the Saudi Hussein Saleh Saeed Alamoudi Group (HSSAG) on Tuesday to discuss investment opportunities in Egypt.
El Said explained that the ministry is working to boost partnerships with the private sector, civil society, and local and international development partners.
She pointed to the success of the Egyptian economic reform programme, referring to the sectoral reforms undertaken by the state, along with investments in infrastructure, and legislations reforms to boost investment in the country.
During the meeting, HSSAG presented proposals for implementing a waste to energy project, explaining that it would be highly beneficial and technologically advanced.
Alamoudi stressed his confidence in the success of the joint cooperation between the Ministry of Planning and the group, pointing to the importance of the national project for waste recycling and the development it will achieve in the areas of hygiene and energy generation.
El Said commented that the company’s clean city technology would support 11 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
