Konoz for honey products is targeting exports of $10m this year after opening its first honey factory and lab.

Abdel Moneim Mohamed, sales and marketing consultant at Konoz, said that in 2019 the company exported to several countries including Kuwait, Sudan, and Germany without having a factory, and it opened its first factory in Egypt at the end of last year to meet the growing export demands.

The volume of the factory’s investments was estimated at about EGP 4m, and it includes a lab to guarantee the quality of the products. The company also has five sale outlets in the 1st and 5th settlements and Maadi, in addition to two branches on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road and another in Hurghada.

He added that the company’s first participation food exhibitions was in the Food Africa, which it greatly benefited from, as it met with clients in many countries of the world, such as India, Spain, Canada, Jordan, Libya, Palestine, and Somalia.

He explained that the company has been producing the finest types of honey and its derivatives since 2000. Its products are characterised by the highest standards, high quality, and healthy nutritional elements to meet the requirements of all consumer segments in local and international markets.

He said that the opportunity for exportation of honey products is greater than the local market, especially with the spread of apiaries in many areas of the Delta.

He pointed out that the company aims to be a world leader and to own the largest market share in the field of honey products, which includes natural bee honey, dates, and beeswax. Its outlets are located in Roshdy pharmacies, Soudi supermarket, El-Ezaby pharmacy, Royal House supermarket, and Spinneys supermarket.
