Media Avenue will launch the Annual Export Summit 2020 titled “Export … the path of sustainable development,” on 24 March, at the Nile Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Cairo.
This comes amid the interest of the political leadership and the Egyptian government to work with the private sector to prepare a new path for Egyptian exports. This is an opportunity to help bridge the trade balance gap while attracting local and foreign investments and providing foreign currency.
The summit will witness the honouring of some of the most influential companies and institutions in various export sectors and councils. It will also highlight the effective contribution of major companies in the export process and the importance of their support to enhance the position and returns of Egyptian exports.
There will be strong governmental participation from ministries and bodies associated with the export process, as well as heads of business organisations, banks, and government and private initiatives to enhance export growth opportunities.
This year’s summit focuses on finding practical solutions to achieve the goals of Egyptian exports and ways to motivate companies to double exports to $55bn by 2023. Discussions will also surround mechanisms to facilitate trade competition and the participation of organisations dealing with exporters, heads of export boards, and representatives from leading export companies.
There will be a session devoted to the role of international transport and logistics, how to benefit from trade agreements with economic blocs, and the participation of heads of companies operating in various transport sectors, exporting companies, and heads of exporting societies.
Workshops will present the prospects for transferring exports and insuring their risks, the role of financing institutions and banks, how the sector can benefit from non-banking financing tools, and the vision of exporting companies for the support they may need.
The summit seeks to formulate a vision for the role of media and education in creating a supportive environment that backs Egyptian exports and provide a better future of employment and employment opportunities while promoting the integration of the Egyptian economy into the global economy and increase its competitiveness.
