Arab Security Group (ASG) has announced contracting with Dahua International to provide integrated solutions to detect coronavirus carriers in Egypt. ASG, which works in security solutions and systems, will produce systems, including thermal cameras that detect temperatures at a distance of up to 3 sqm.
ASG CEO Basem Bahaa said his company’s solution is the best option to reduce the spread of diseases, especially the coronavirus, which has killed over 22,000 worldwide and infected nearly 500,000.
He added that ASG in Egypt is the official partner of Dahua International, which specialises in manufacturing surveillance cameras and security systems. It has been able to provide innovative and effective solutions to reduce the spread of coronavirus in China.
Bahaa emphasised that these systems were recently supplied to the GCC, notably the UAE and Saudi Arabia. A live experiment was carried out to ensure the accuracy of these cameras and their analogy with traditional measuring devices such as a thermometers. The results proved identical, which prompted ASG to provide the Egyptian market with such high-resolution cameras.
The cameras will help in remotely measuring the temperature of people at a distance of up to 3 sqm, and avoiding the spread of infection. The cameras can be accurate when used in crowded areas including airports, metro stations, railway stations, and banks as they can measure the temperature of 10-15 people at the same time.
Bahaa added that these cameras are easy to install and can be moved easily according to the nature of each place. They come with two thermoelectric lenses, one of which is has a measurement accuracy of + or – 0.3, and the other capable of facial recognition. The cameras can store and record all measurements for an extended period of time on separate recording devices attached to the cameras.
