The 10th of Ramadan Investors Association will supply Sharqeya hospitals with necessary tools and medical supplies to fight the coronavirus, as part of its corporate social responsibility role. The move comes in a bid to increase cooperation between the public and private sectors.
The association will provide 1.5 million face masks and 1.5 million gloves, in addition to 600 litres of raw alcohol, said Samir Aref, head of the 10th of Ramadan Investors Association.
Aref said the current period requires social solidarity, especially amongst investors and the private sector in undertaking their duties to support Egypt through the current crisis.
He added, “Adopted preventive measures, available capabilities, and ways of cooperation between Ministry of health and Investors Association, and how to deal with suspected cases in private hospitals and factories in 10th of Ramadan City, East Cairo, were discussed. Moreover, the association is currently providing health awareness and education for factory workers and citizens in the city.”
Adel Lotfy, from the Investors Association of El Sheikh Zayed, said the association supports building hospitals in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. He added,” We support El Sheikh Zayed General Hospital with equipment and construction works.”
Lofty also said that the Investors Association of El Sheikh Zayed is taking an initiative with the Ministry of Education for remote education through a YouTube channel. The project, in partnership with the Sheikh Zayed Educational Administration, facilitates remote education for students, especially in light of the state’s decision to close schools.
Bahaa Al-Adly, from the Badr Investors Association, said that investors and members in the association have donated to build hospitals or adopt sick cases and also provide needs for the informally employed. He noted that the association does not collect donations and is not a mediator to a charity or hospital, but it nominates many entities for investors to donate to.
Head of Assiut Investors Association, Mohamed Hamdallah, noted there are no social initiatives the association is currently undertaking, but it has contacted Egyptian Federation of Investors Associations to provide medical tools for the prevention of coronavirus from Armed Forces’ factories to distribute to factories in the governorate.
