Following the launch of its “Stay Safe” initiative, Orange Egypt announced that it will utilize all its smart technologies, whether the digital and the financial solutions, to help customers manage their daily life and business while staying at home without any need to go out.
Orange Egypt was the first operator to initiate and interact with intensive campaigns in Egypt by launching its “Stay Safe” initiative that appeared on Orange customers’ mobile phones next to Orange network name with the aim of raising awareness in preventing the outbreak of COVID-19 where it encourages citizens to follow the strictest security instructions in order to ensure their safety. The initiative included an added IVR message that conveys COVID-19 precautionary tips to be heard by customers while contacting Orange customer service. In addition, the company broadcasts these instructions continuously at the company’s headquarters and on the screens of its shops throughout Egypt.
In a further step to encourage citizens to stay at home, Orange has mobilized all its smart and advanced digital and financial services needed by the customer to be used remotely from anywhere and at any time, including Orange financial services “Orange Cash” services through which customers can pay all their utility bills such as electricity, water and gas using their mobile wallet.
And under the slogan, “Staying home is crucial, but it does not have to be boring. Stay connected and follow-up your work and studies”, Orange Egypt has granted 20% free extra traffic allowance on all Home Internet and Home 4G packages at the same prices for all current and new customers. Orange has also granted free access for schools and universities students to browse educational websites related to the Ministry of Education and to follow the updates of the protection against COVID 19 at care.gov.eg
Besides, Orange has followed the preventive measures adopted by the State asking Egyptians to stay home until the end of the outbreak by launching its campaign “Orange brings you closer to what matters most to you at your home” where the company introduced the latest integrated communication services that included its entertainment services via Orange TV Plus platform to provide its customers with a free unlimited streaming on their mobile phones for a variety of diversified set of international series, movies, programs and plays for two weeks.
This is in addition to “MyOrange” application service that provides various privileges to Orange customers such as bills payment, controlling bundles, consuming and recharging the balance easily from home without the need to visit the company’s branches. In addition, the service provides customers with 30 times of the recharge amount and free units and the option to share free internet bundles between each other. Orange prepaid customers can also benefit from “Salefny” service that gives them the privilege to borrow credit more than once to use in emergency cases by calling #8# or through the MyOrange application.
Another solution comes with “Orange 8000” service that help customers in requesting assistance, run errands, and delivering orders to customers doorstep. And with Orange Online Shop, customers can browse the company’s diversified online store to buy products, internet devices and mobile phones in instalments with free delivery without the need to go anywhere.
Also, Orange corporate customers will also enjoy many smart solutions and services that help them get the business done easily and conveniently where Orange has designed Orange U-Ctrl+ application for its corporate clients to provide a more efficient digital experience in managing and controlling all Orange corporate lines online including paying billing, service subscription and cancellation, changing lines tariffs and internet packages.
Corporate clients can also communicate easily and efficiently with Avaya Space service where companies can interact with their clients or team members remotely using the latest available technologies that include scheduling meetings, taking notes, screen sharing, assigning tasks, instant messaging and other features that enable corporate customers to remotely follow up their business effectively.
Furthermore, Orange presented Connect2Work, which is a virtual private network (VPN) designed to serve entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by enabling them to carry on their business at any time and from anywhere using any internet-connected device.
This is in addition to Business Pro integrated digital solution that has been also initially designed to provide Entrepreneurs and SMEs with the latest digital solutions and communications services that in turn contributes to the development of their business and raises the efficiency of their startup company in a distinctive way.
It’s worth noting that Orange Egypt has recently announced adopting the health and safety measurements and standards issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization as well as that of Orange Group to prevent the spread of Coronavirus by taking all precautionary measures inside the company’s headquarters and also within its branches throughout the Republic.
Orange has recently taken a series of effective precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the infection by following the strictest health measures, as the company started using infrared thermometers to detect the employees’ temperature upon their arrival to workplace and prevented visitors from entering the main headquarters except for maintenance cases while checking the health of any external visitor. In addition, Orange installed sanitizers and dispensers in all its premises and distributed masks and gloves in all stores to ensure the safety of its employees and its customers. Orange also periodically sterilizes all surfaces, bathrooms, and elevators at the company’s premises. Furthermore, it provides adequate ventilation during official working hours.
Orange Group has also issued directions to its subsidiaries to suspend business trips abroad and limit their domestic trips until the end of May as part of its precautionary measures.
Additionally, Orange has applied the “Work from Home” policy to eligible departments that do not need the presence of an actual employee within the company to preserve the health of employees and follow the state’s instructions to reduce overcrowding in the workplace. The company noted that this policy requires a greater level of efficiency and professionalism by employees and officials in addition to the importance of using Orange remote applications and modern technologies that ensure business continuity anywhere with ease.
Orange has also granted their employees – who suffer from chronic medical conditions such as heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, and other medical conditions – a two-week paid leave after the coordination with the medical team and their direct manager.
