Emaar Misr is to donate EGP 10m to the Egyptian government as part of the ongoing efforts to curb the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The company’s board has also agreed to donate EGP 40m to the Misr El Kheir Foundation, as part of its cooperation protocol with the Foundation and the Ministry of Social Solidarity.

In September 2018, Emaar Misr and Misr El Kheir Foundation signed a cooperation protocol, under the supervision of the Ministry of Solidarity, to launch the “Boyout El Kheir” (Homes of Generosity) project. The project aims to improve the living conditions of thousands of eligible poor families across Egypt. The first phase of the project includes developing 1,000 units and providing 500 projects for low-income families.

In 2019, Emaar Misr donated EGP 905.7m, the largest donation by a company listed on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), to Egypt to support development and social projects across the country. The company has directed EGP 878m for national projects in Egypt, of which EGP 23.3m went to the Boyout El Kheir project last year.
