The Ministry of Health announced that 36 of those who tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19), have been discharged from quarantine, bringing the total number of recoveries to 384. The patients, all Egyptian, had been receiving the necessary medical care according to World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines.
Khaled Megahed, Advisor for Media Affairs to the Minister of Health said the number of false positive cases increased to 505 cases. These reflect tests that originally resulted in positive diagnoses but were, after a few days, negative, and includes the 384 recoveries.
Meghaed added that 95 new coronaviruses were diagnosed on Friday, raising Egypt’s total to 1,794 cases. He also said there were 17 deaths recorded on Friday, bringing the total to 135 deaths, of which 30% died before reaching hospitals.
