The Egyptian Cabinet denied on Friday morning, media rumours reporting that pharmacies are offering new treatments or vaccines for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
In statements published via its official Facebook page, the cabinet called upon citizens to report any pharmacy that claims any treatment or vaccines are available for the virus.
The cabinet added that there is no lack of intensive care equipment for the treatment of the coronavirus at government hospitals, with all units available also fully working.
The cabinet also said that documents circulated on social media and falsely attributed to the Ministry of Health, relating to the number of coronavirus cases in Egypt, are not accurate. They said that the Ministry of Health issues detailed daily statistics every evening, which should be referred to for the latest information.
According to the cabinet statement, the EGP 100m dedicated to the coronavirus’ containment in Egypt will remain as is, with no money being taken away from the fund.
