Telecom Egypt is to coordinate with the Ministry of Health in providing quarantine hospitals across Egypt with free ADSL.
The move is part of a series of initiatives by Telecom Egypt to support the health system and the efforts healthcare professionals are making in tackling the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Adel Hamed, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, said the company continues to support state efforts in fighting the risks of the virus. He also said that support is needed for the great efforts made by healthcare professionals in quarantine hospitals, by providing communications technology solutions to facilitate their work.
The company has undertaken a number of initiatives supporting Egypt’s health system since the state put in place precautionary measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus. As part of this, the company has made available a free medical consulting service on the virus in cooperation with Altibbi Medical via the 16445 hotline.
Telecom Egypt has also created hotlines, which can be accessed on 105 and 15335, and on which citizens can make free calls to the Ministry of Health. As part of this, the company has added 200 extra seats at the centres which handle the service, for answering inquiries and enhancing the company’s abilityto accommodate the number of incoming calls via the hotlines.
