INJAZ Egypt has launched a new corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative titled “Together today for a brighter tomorrow” in partnership with Philip Morris Misr. The intiative will provide essential food products for the most vulnerable families affected by of the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Mireille Youssef, Managing Director of INJAZ Egypt, said that in light of the unprecedented situation that Egypt is facing, this initiative aims to reduce the virus’ economic implications.
Youssef added that the initiative targets supplying 2,000 of the most vulnerable families whose work has been affected by the measures taken to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The initiative will provide them with basic food products as well as further assistance to ease their financial burdens in the current situation. These steps are important given that the coronavirus pandemic has weakened their chances of finding daily jobs and make ends meet, she noted.
The initiative complements state efforts to curb the spread of the virus, which have resulted in thousands losing their jobs, particularly among irregular workers.
“Philip Morris has always been a significant and integral partner in numerous corporate social responsibility projects,” Youssef said, “The two partners have cultivated several successful initiatives and have shown merits in the fields of social development and solidarity.”
She concluded that INJAZ Egypt is an educational and developmental organisation with a comprehensive vision for community development and impacting talent empowerment, incubation, and acceleration.
