Uber has decided to discontinue the Uber Eats services in the Middle East, according to the company’s spokesperson.
“This will also allow us to commit further energy and resources on our top Eats markets around the world,” the spokesperson said.
“Looking ahead, we remain committed to growing and investing in Uber’s mobility platform in the Middle East.”
According to an Uber source, Uber Eats services in Saudi Arabia were halted starting from Monday, and that the service will be stopped in Egypt by 18 May. Delivery workers in the UAE will be merged with Careem service but no plan has been announced with regards to those in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
