China has neither intention nor ability to rebuild the world order

After reading the op-ed “You are not welcome anymore China”, published in Daily News Egypt, 26 April 2020, there seems something choking my throat, so I have to stand out and say them out.

The author says that Chinese “are fast learners” and are using “know-how to eliminate our own race, slowly but smartly.” Admittedly, we, Chinese, are learners. Knowledge, especially science and technology, is the common wealth of mankind. Chinese have begun to learn from western civilization from 1840s. At the same time, if we make breakthroughs in some academic fields, we feedback to the international community. As a matter of fact, most of the significant research findings are published in western journals in English. Eliminating your own race? I can’t believe this! How he can imagine like that? We want to make money by means of business. That is true. If we eliminate you, how and where we can do business? Believe it or not, live and to live, this is Confucius thought also.

The author says, “China has once again exported outbreaks of illness and disease to an aging Europe.” The outbreak of Covid-19 took place firstly in China. To contain the spread of the invisible virus, China has sacrificed too much. And now China is trying its best to help other countries to defeat the pandemic. By the way, we export commodities only when other countries need them. Exporting the illness and disease once again? Does the author really think that China wants to be against the entire world?

The author also thinks that China wants to implement a new world order. In my humble view, China has neither intention nor ability to do such things. China put more emphasis on its interior affairs than exterior’s. There are too many domestic problems which need be taken care of, the environmental issue, the disequilibrium between the rural areas and urban areas, the employment issue of almost seven or eight millions college students per year, the scarcity of innovation capacity, and so on.

“China is bringing misery to Europe by buying the nations and their business. They will soon control both ends of the supply chain.” Give me a solid fact to buy it, please. When dealing with foreign entrepreneurs and companies, China sticks to the mutually beneficial cooperation and win-win approach strictly. In modern days, no country can control both ends of the whole supply chain of other country. In fact, due to the Chinese backward of science and technology, many crucial technologies have been hold firmly in developed countries.

At the end of the op-ed, the author says, “this is one of few series I intend to write.” Good things for us. I am eagerly looking forward to reading his writings. The only thing I want to suggest to him is that if you tell us your viewpoints or opinions on China, thank you very much, but you need to have some stuff to prove or support them. Please be reasonable and logical, not emotional and unwarranted.
