The Bavarian Auto Group (BAG), the exclusive agent of the German brand BMW, announced the launch of BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe in Egypt. The brilliant new addition to the Bavarian manufacturer’s line-up was the first four-door Gran Coupe released last November.
The car is a continuation of the Grand Coupe concept which has already achieved success in the premium compact vehicle class.
The new car introduces a new form of authority with a bold character to the compact class. It is performance-oriented aesthetic, individual, and extraordinary. In keeping with high-end technologies and perfectly tuned driving dynamics features, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe stands out with ease.
The car comes with distinctive front featuring the familiar BMW kidney-like grille, imposing pair of headlamps equipped with LED daylight technology, busy bumper with horizontal fog lamps in an aggressive housing, and sporty lower intake.
The exterior also features frameless doors, slightly sloping roof line, sporty rear with LED tail lights, and dual exhaust pipes.
The 2 Series Gran Coupe is designed to be the dynamic scale for cars in its class, offering a front-wheel-drive layout that will enable a more spacious cabin.
The interior impresses with exclusive design details, high-quality materials and, if desired, a fully digital cockpit and central display which provides a 5.1-inch digital dashboard and an 8.8-inch touch screen with a resolution of 1280×480 pixels, which includes i-Drive 6 system. In addition, it features a navigation system, extended Bluetooth connectivity, the Apple CarPlay® system, and a high-quality Hi-Fi entertainment system consisting of a 205W amplifier with 10 speakers.
At the same time, features such as the panorama glass roof lend the sporty interior an exceptional feeling of spaciousness. The seats come in black Dakota leather blended with blue, red, or mocha colour.
The BAG introduces the 218i version of the car in Egypt, which comes with three-cylinder 1.5-litre engine producing 140 bhp and maximum torque of 220 Nm at 1,480 – 4,200 rpm. It has an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission. The car accelerates from 0 -100 km/h in 8.7 seconds.
With average fuel consumption inside and outside the city of 5 – 5.7 litres per 100 km, the engine uses 92-octane or 95-octane petrol for a 50-litre fuel tank.
As for safety specifications, the car has ABS, the Dynamic Stability Control System (DSC), the Dynamic Traction Control system (DTC), the electronic differential lock control system (EDLC), and ARB front wheel lock.
The luggage compartment has a 430-litre capacity when folding the rear row.
