Minister of Manpower Mohamed Saafan met with Huawei Egypt CEO Vincent Sun and Huawei officials to discuss ways of joint cooperation in the field of communications and information technology.
Discussions also took place on cooperation between the two sides to train engineers and increase productivity, whilst also developing and modernising technologies to comply with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Saafan stressed that the coming period requires increasing joint cooperation between the two sides and starting work on the points agreed upon in the protocol. This should especially be in the field of training, which has some urgency due to the high demands for skills required by the Egyptian labour market.
Sun praised the good relations between the company and the Ministry of Manpower, stressing that this cooperation reflects the Egyptian government’s confidence in Huawei and its pioneering role in its field.
He added that Huawei achieved an estimated global growth rate of about 18%, with total returns of $120bn, during 2019.
Sun also invited Saafan to attend the 20th anniversary celebrations of Huawei’s presence in Egypt, stressing that the coming period will have a greater focus on training in Egypt.
