Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has launched an initiative called “Misr Hat’aady” (Egypt will prevail), aiming to retain workforce in the private sector and even provide new jobs amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said said the initiative aims to preserve Egypt’s economic achievements, which allowed the government to tackle the pandemic’s health, social, and economic consequences.
El-Said added that such economic and social measures come in line with the national sustainable development agenda and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Rami Galal, the ministry spokesperson, said the initiative’s first week attracted 3m viewers across social media platforms.
Galal added that the initiative calls upon the civil society and businesspersons to provide their services online to protect workers and boost economic growth.
