Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation removed 484 illegal constructions and encroachments on the Nile in 16 governorates, of which 102 violations were in Qena governorate, during the holy month of Ramadan.
Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel-Ati stressed his ministry addressed all forms of violation and encroachment on the Nile River during Eid El-Fitr holiday. Abdel-Ati said on Tuesday that the violators should be referred to the military prosecution.
During an inspection campaign, the ministry referred a cafe owner to military prosecution as he had built unlicensed cafe on 300 sqm on the western bank of the Nile in Giza.
