Sharif Farouk, CEO of Nasser Social Bank, will take over as Chairperson of Egypt Post, in succession of Essam El-Sagheer who resigned early March, according to official sources.
The sources added that the cabinet recently approved Farouk’s assumption of the position. On Sunday, he will meet with Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat to officially announce his assumption of the position.
Following El-Sagheer’s resignation, Talaat issued a decision appointing Abdo Alwan, Vice-Chairperson of Egypt Post, as the authority’s acting chairperson.
Farouk successor to his position at the Nasser Social Bank has not yet been chosen.
During his extensive banking career, Farouk has taken on several notable roles. This includes his role as the Nasser Social Bank’s first deputy chairperson, where he has also been its managing director since February 2017.
Before taking over this position, Farouk was the first general manager of the EG Bank. He has over 28 years of banking experience, including in retail banking, branch network management, and credit risk.
