A fifth Member of Parliament (MP) has contracted the coronavirus (COVID-19) according to a Parliament statement on Sunday.
Eid Hiekal contracted the virus, and is currently hospitalised and in a stable condition at a private facility.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Health reported 1,367 new coronavirus cases and 34 new deaths, raising the country’s total confirmed cases to 23,449 and 913 fatalities. Up to 5,693 cases have recovered and discharged from hospital.
