Egyptian agricultural exports amounted to about 3.5m tonnes year to date (YTD), despite the novel coronavirus outbreak, the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation said on Thursday.
The ministry confirmed in a statement that Egyptian agricultural products are currently exported to most of the world’s markets, and are witnessing increased demand from all countries due to their high quality.
It added that the volume of Egyptian agricultural exportation from January to April exceeded 2.4m tonnes.
Citrus ranked first in the list of most agricultural exports by about 1.2m tonnes, followed by potatoes by 550,000 tonnes, onions by 150,000 tonnes, and strawberries by 20,000 tonnes.
