The Nile Pioneers Initiative has launched a programme, in cooperation with Banque du Caire, encouraging small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to export and promote their products.
The programme aims to help SMEs open up in new international markets, and increase their exports in current ones, without incurring any financial burdens.
Applications to the programme are open until 20 July. Those companies that are accepted will receive full technical support if they meet the programme’s criteria.
The selected firms must be operating in the engineering industry sector or a related field. This includes fields such as equipment, machinery, production lines, electric cables, electrical appliances and components, automotive feeder industries, computers and electronics, metal furniture, sanitary ware, and medical devices.
The accepted company must have been operating for over three years and possess an active workplace, a commercial registry, and a tax card. It must also be categorised as micro, small, or medium sized company by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
The Nile Pioneers Initiative stressed the need for companies to have high-quality engineering products, preferably of certified quality. The programme contributes to increasing the ability of companies to expand in the international markets through e-commerce.
The programme also helps in managing supply chains and electronic marketing, whilst selecting the best ideas appropriate for industrial development that suit the needs of the local and export markets.
It also supports designing and developing companies’ products, producing prototypes and new industrial products, and connecting companies to international partners through international platforms. This is in addition to supporting exhibitions, international missions, and forums.
