Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Assem El-Gazzar, launched on Thursday a campaign to remove building and street vending violations in New Cairo’s Fifth Settlement district.
The Minister issued strict instructions to heads of neighbourhoods to launch similar sudden campaigns periodically to prevent building violations within the city and to remove them, if any, immediately.
Amin Ghoneim, head of the New Cairo Development Authority, said the campaign, he led it himself, included Ennaba Mall, and resulted in removing several vending violations.
They also removed rooms that were built illegally in the internal corridors of the mall.
