Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has issued the decision appointing Sherif Farouk as Chairperson of Egypt Post for a period of one year, commencing on 21 July 2020.
Farouk has over 29 years of banking experience, having previously been involved in the restructuring of banks and financial institutions. This comes in addition to his work in developing human resources in the banking sector, developing work and qualifying managers, specialists and banking services for individuals and in private banks.
Farouk’s experience also covers branch network management, credit risk management, payment card industry and corporate loans, in addition to business development and management. He has held the position of First Vice-Chairperson, CEO and Managing Director of the Nasser Social Bank (NSB) since March 2017, during which he was able to lead change, development and restructuring in the bank.
He has also previously worked with the Egyptian Gulf Bank (EG Bank) in Cairo between 2006/07 to February 2017.
Farouk has a BA in Commerce, majoring in Accounting, from Ain Shams University in 1987, and an MA in Business Administration from the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences in 2009. He also has a PhD in Business Administration from Ain Shams University.
