The Egyptian Information, Telecommunications, Electronics, and Software Alliance (Eitesal) has organised a webinar entitled “Digital Transformation in the Age of the Internet of Things”, in cooperation with the Embassy of Latvia in Egypt.
The seminar reviewed Latvia’s experience in innovation and digital transformation, in relation to the tremendous developments that have taken place in Internet of Things (IOT) technologies.
The webinar was opened with an introductory message from Latvia’s Ambassador to Egypt, Ilmārs Breidaks. During his remarks, Breidaks praised both the distinguished relationship between Latvia and Egypt, and the latter’s progress in the fields of information technology (IT).
The ambassador expressed his great pleasure at this webinar’s occurrence, particularly at a time when the world is witnessing great challenges due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. He also highlighted how the global health crisis has had a severe impact on the global economy, trade movements and foreign investment flows.
In her speech, the head of the Latvian Information and Communications Technology Association (LIKTA), Signe Balina, reviewed her role in representing the sector. She also outlined the ways to search for investment opportunities in various sectors in Egypt, as well as ways to support relations between Egypt and Latvia in the telecommunications and IT sectors.
Mohamed Said, Head of the Software Division at Eitesal, said that the webinar comes within the framework of communication efforts in support of continuous international cooperation. It also reflects the keenness to integrate and involve the association’s members with global economies and to open export opportunities for Egyptian companies. In this context, it was agreed to organise a networking seminar between Egyptian and Latvian companies in September.
